A 2004 study done by the University of Houston Medical School
MD Anderson Cancer Center treated 19 patients with inflammatory
facial acne with 1450-nm diode laser.

Each patient was their own control. Study photographs and lesions
counts were obtained at baseline and after each treatment.

Miraculously, all patients had a reduction in acne. Acne lesions counts
decreased with each treatment. On average after just three treatments
there was an average of 83% reduction in acne lesions observed.

Side effects of treatment were related to pain, redness and swelling at
the site of treatment but patients reported that side effects were well tolerated.
