Medical-File Case Brings Indictment

A former U.C.L.A. Medical Center employee was indicted on accusations that she gained access to the records of dozens of well-known patients and sold the information to an unidentified news media outlet for $4,600, the United States attorney’s office said Tuesday.

The indictment did not identify the celebrities. But earlier this month, The Los Angeles Times reported that the former employee, Lawanda Jackson, 49, was accused of being involved in breaches of records for Maria Shriver, the wife of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the actress Farrah Fawcett.

Ms. Jackson, identified as an administrative specialist, told The Times she was just “being nosy.” Her arraignment is set for June 9.
